Services
In Educational therapy, children learn concrete skills for managing homework, studying and completing long-term assignments. Using evidence-based strategies, students make gains in reading, writing, math, processing, and executive functions.
We'll start from scratch to develop a plan that meets the unique needs, strengths, challenges, sensitivities, and goals of your child.
where we start
I offer an introductory 30 minute phone consultation at no charge. If we agree that educational therapy might make sense for your child, we will schedule a time to meet in your home.

Initial Meeting

The initial meeting is 60 minutes and the time split between you and your child. It is best if all parents who are involved in the child’s daily life are present at this meeting. The process is most effective when framed as an on-going team endeavor.
After the meeting, I will give you a detailed map of how we will proceed—the anticipated number of weekly sessions, the mix of in-person and virtual, and a schedule of fees.

Bridge the School to Home Gap
I bridge the gap between home and school, work closely with teachers to help kids get ahead of assignments and stay on track.
Chief Homework Manager
I become your child’s chief homework manager, relieving you of the common battles over assignments and tests.
Your Child’s Advocate
I advocate for your child in meetings with teachers and school administrators, and attend IEP and 504 plan meetings—and model advocacy for them during our time together.
your child's learning plan
-
Review psychoeducational testing reports, school report cards,IEP or 504 plans S
-
Speak to classroom teachers, learning specialists, guidance counselors, psychologists or therapists engaged in his or her care.

To create an individualized learning plan, I take into account your child’s strengths, weaknesses, learning styles, and any related conditions or diagnoses.
No two kids are alike.
To learn more about YOUR child, I'll:

By keeping my overall caseload small, I can devote the time needed to maintain a 360-degree view of your child’s academic and social emotional growth.

-
Weekly email summarizing the work that has been started or completed, new goals, new and on-going challenges, and student progress.

This is a team effort that requires ongoing communication, support, and patience.
